Tick Almanac Editorial
The Tick Almanac uses a clear editorial byline rather than a fabricated personal byline for staff-written content. Larger publications (NYT staff editorials, The Verge staff lists, Wirecutter team picks) do the same when content is collaboratively produced and not attributable to a single named writer.
What this site does not do: invent a fake person, manufacture fake credentials, or attach an LLM-generated face to a fake name. When a credentialed medical reviewer, DVM, or entomology specialist signs off on a page, their real name and credentials appear in the byline alongside this editorial credit. Until those reviewers are onboarded, pages requiring their signoff stay in locked-preview state and are not indexed by search engines.
The publish gates that control this are in our editorial policy.
